HOW TO USE:
100% organic, non-gmo ingredients
Glycerin & Castile Soap: Glycerin and castile soap are considered better for leather because they are considered mild and gentle cleansers, helping to remove dirt without stripping away the natural oils in the leather, thus preserving its softness and suppleness while being less likely to damage the leather's finish compared to harsher soaps.
Moisturizing properties: Glycerin acts as a humectant, attracting and retaining moisture, which helps keep the leather supple and prevents it from drying out. Castile soap is a plant-based soap with a relatively neutral pH, making it gentle on leather and suitable for regular cleaning. Both glycerin and castile soap are often considered natural cleaning options, minimizing the risk of introducing harsh chemicals to the leather.
Beeswax: Beeswax is included in saddle soap to act as a sealant, protecting the leather by preventing it from drying out, repelling water, and helping to maintain its natural oils while cleaning, essentially providing a barrier to keep dirt and moisture from penetrating too deeply into the leather fibers; this helps to keep the leather soft and supple. The wax creates a protective layer on the leather surface, preventing excessive moisture absorption which could lead to cracking or warping. While not a primary moisturizer, beeswax helps to retain the leather's natural oils, contributing to a smooth and supple texture. When combined with the soap base, beeswax aids in lifting dirt and grime from the leather surface while simultaneously sealing the pores
Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil is generally considered better for leather than neatsfoot oil because it is less likely to darken the leather, is more stable, and doesn't tend to attract moisture, making it a safer choice for most leather goods, especially light-colored ones, while still effectively conditioning and protecting the material; neatsfoot oil, on the other hand, can significantly darken leather and may become sticky or attract moisture in humid environments. Jojoba oil is known for its ability to moisturize leather without causing noticeable darkening, making it ideal for light-colored leather items. Derived from the jojoba plant, this oil is considered a natural choice and is less prone to going rancid compared to animal-based oils like neatsfoot oil. Jojoba oil readily absorbs into leather, providing deep conditioning without leaving a greasy residue.
