Applied Zoopharmacognosy Session – $70

Applied Zoopharmacognosy allows your horse to instinctively select the herbs their body needs for healing and balance. In nature, animals self-select plants to address nutritional and physiological needs—a process known as zoopharmacognosy. Through structured herb testing, I help your horse reconnect with that natural wisdom in a safe, guided way.

What to Expect:
Each session typically takes 1 to 2 hours, depending on your horse’s comfort level. Some horses may need their session divided into two shorter visits to avoid overwhelm them. Throughout the process, your horse will be presented with a carefully curated selection of dried and powdered herbs. I observe subtle signs—such as sniffing, licking, chewing, eye blinking, relaxation or avoidance—closely to assess their choices.

Following testing, I chart the herbs your horse selected, allowing me to formulate a custom 2-month blend designed specifically for your horse’s needs. This blend supports root-cause healing, addressing imbalances from the inside out.

 

Session Fee: $70
This covers the herb testing session, professional evaluation, and formulation (this can take up to 3 days) of your horse’s custom blend.
Please note: The actual herbal blend itself is a separate charge, as pricing depends on ingredients and quantity.

For Barns & Groups:
I can test up to 3 horses per day, ideal for facilities or group sessions.

Not Local? Remote Testing Option Available

If you’re outside my travel range (which depends on distance and number of horses), you can still access personalized herb testing through a remote consultation and kit. This process includes:

• A comprehensive consultation, where we’ll discuss your horse’s health history, current concerns, and wellness goals.

• A customized herb testing kit, hand-selected based on your horse’s needs. This kit includes a variety of herbs I consider critical for your horse’s situation, detailed instructions, and a three-pocket apron for ease of testing.

• An invoice will be sent for the herb test kit, which varies in cost depending on the number and type of herbs included.

• Once testing is complete, you’ll submit your observations for evaluation. The evaluation and blend formulation are provided at no additional cost.

• After evaluation, I’ll create a custom 2-month herbal blend for your horse. The blend itself is billed separately.

 

Going forward, repeating testing every 3 months is recommended as your horse’s needs evolve and healing progresses. Each new custom blend will continue to reflect your horse’s shifting needs until transitioning to a maintenance blend becomes appropriate.
