Wholehearted Harmony Whole-Food Recommendation

Whole foods are intended to complement—not replace—the species-appropriate foundation of the diet. For horses, that means quality forage; for dogs, an animal-protein-based diet; and for cats, an animal-tissue-based diet.Wholehearted Harmony recommends adding one combined handful of appropriate whole foods 3–4 times per week, scaled to the size and needs of the animal. That handful may contain one food or a combination of several foods. The goal is rotation, variety, and nutritional diversity—not volume.

For horses and dogs, a Core Essentials Foundation Blend is recommended as the daily nutritional base, with Camelina Meal optional but highly recommended by Wholehearted Harmony as an additional source of healthy fats and plant-based omega fatty acids.

Always wash produce, serve foods plain, remove pits, cores, rinds, or problematic seeds where appropriate, and prepare foods according to the species. Horses can generally eat suitable produce raw, while dogs and especially cats may benefit from cooked, steamed, mashed, or finely chopped preparation. Whole foods do not automatically mean appropriate for every individual. Animals with metabolic concerns, digestive sensitivities, urinary issues, allergies, or other health conditions may require different choices or amounts.

*Always try and use organic or non-gmo foods when possible.
