Liver Function & Metabolic Resilience Herbal Tea
Liver Function & Metabolic Resilience Herbal Tea is a Functional Master Herbal Formulation created to support healthy liver function, bile-associated digestive processes, metabolic activity, antioxidant defenses, and the body’s normal pathways of processing and elimination.
The liver sits at the center of numerous physiological processes. It participates in nutrient metabolism, glucose and lipid regulation, hormone metabolism, bile production, antioxidant activity, and the transformation and processing of substances the body must either use, store, or eliminate.
For that reason, this formulation was built to support more than the idea of “detoxification.” Roasted dandelion root and roasted chicory root form the grounding foundation of the blend, providing bitter, digestive, hepatic, and metabolic support while contributing naturally occurring prebiotic compounds. Fennel seed and orange peel broaden the formula into digestive function, aromatic bitter activity, intestinal comfort, and antioxidant protection. Cocoa nibs contribute a concentrated source of polyphenols and minerals while extending the formulation into cardiovascular, metabolic, and cellular antioxidant physiology.
Whole-System Liver & Metabolic Support
Liver function is closely connected to digestion and metabolism.
Bile production and release influence fat digestion and nutrient absorption. Digestive function affects the compounds presented to the liver for processing. The liver helps regulate nutrient storage and availability while also participating in glucose and lipid metabolism, hormone processing, and the transformation of metabolic byproducts.
Antioxidant defenses are also important because many of these metabolic processes naturally generate oxidative activity that must remain appropriately balanced. This formulation therefore supports the hepatic, digestive, metabolic, biliary, and antioxidant systems together, providing focused liver support without approaching the body as though it simply needs to be aggressively “cleansed.”
Its roasted roots, aromatic seeds, citrus peel, and cocoa nibs also create a deeper, grounding flavor profile that makes it suitable for regular use when focused liver and metabolic support is desired.
Foundation Before Function
For most people, Functional support is best used alongside a species-appropriate whole-food human diet and the appropriate Adaptive and/or Nourishing foundation.
A Functional formulation may also be used first when a more immediate or pronounced need requires focused support.
Wholehearted Harmony Master Herbal Formulations are not designed to be indiscriminately stacked. Combining multiple herbal formulations without considering overlapping botanicals, physiological actions, medications, and individual needs can create unnecessary complexity.
If you are considering using this formulation alongside another Wholehearted Harmony blend or herbal tea, please review Using Multiple Animal Blends & Herbal Teas in the Educational Library before combining them.

Roasted Dandelion Root — Functional Properties: Contains bitter sesquiterpene lactones, phenolic acids, inulin, and other compounds traditionally valued for supporting liver function, bile-associated digestion, appetite, digestive secretions, and normal elimination. Roasting develops the deeper, toasted flavor of the root while preserving its role as a grounding digestive and hepatic botanical. Whole-Systems: Connects liver and biliary physiology with digestion, intestinal microbial ecology, metabolic processing, and elimination. Its natural bitterness and prebiotic inulin support the broader digestive environment surrounding healthy liver and metabolic function. Vitamins & Minerals: Potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, and manganese.
Roasted Chicory Root — Functional Properties: Rich in inulin and fructooligosaccharides together with caffeic-acid derivatives, chicoric acid, and other polyphenols. Chicory supports digestion, intestinal microbial balance, bile-associated physiology, antioxidant defenses, and healthy metabolic processing. Roasting gives the root its characteristic deep, nutty, slightly caramelized flavor. Whole-Systems: Bridges digestive and hepatic physiology with the intestinal microbiome and metabolic system. Its substantial prebiotic fiber content supports beneficial intestinal bacteria while its bitter and polyphenolic compounds contribute to digestive and antioxidant function. Vitamins & Minerals: Potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and smaller amounts of iron and zinc.
Cocoa Nibs — Functional Properties: Naturally rich in flavanols, including epicatechin and catechin, along with procyanidins, theobromine, and smaller amounts of caffeine. Cocoa nibs support antioxidant defenses, vascular function, circulation, metabolic resilience, and cellular protection. Whole-Systems: Extend across cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, and antioxidant physiology. Their concentrated polyphenols help support vascular and cellular resilience while their mineral content contributes to broader nutritional support. Vitamins & Minerals: Magnesium, iron, copper, manganese, potassium, phosphorus, and zinc.
Fennel Seed — Functional Properties: Rich in anethole, fenchone, estragole, flavonoids, and aromatic oils that support digestion, gas movement, smooth-muscle comfort, digestive secretions, and antioxidant activity. Whole-Systems: Connects digestive and gastrointestinal function with hepatic, metabolic, and circulatory physiology. Its aromatic and carminative properties help support comfortable digestion while complementing the deeper bitter activity of the roasted roots. Vitamins & Minerals: Calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, and manganese.
Dried Orange Peel — Functional Properties: Rich in flavonoids including hesperidin and related citrus compounds, aromatic oils, pectin, and bitter constituents that support digestion, antioxidant defenses, digestive secretions, circulation, and metabolic function. Whole-Systems: Extends across digestive, hepatic, cardiovascular, microbial, and metabolic physiology. Its citrus flavonoids and aromatic bitters support the digestive-liver relationship while contributing antioxidant protection and intestinal support. Vitamins & Minerals: Vitamin C; calcium, potassium, magnesium, and smaller amounts of B vitamins.
