Catnip: HEALING: calms cats by stimulating receptors in their noses that are linked to their brain and affect their behavior. The active compound in catnip, nepetalactone, mimics pheromones that cats release during sexual activity, which can make them feel happy and safe. This can lead to a state of euphoria or calm, and cats may roll around, rub their face against the catnip, or vocalize. NUTRITIONAL: volatile oil that makes up 70–90% of catnip and is responsible for its calming properties. Nepetalactone is similar to valepotriates, which are found in valerian, a commonly used herbal sedative. Vitamins C, E, also contains thymol, pinene, iridoids, tannins, flavonoids, humulene oxide, thymol methyl ether, and hexenyl benzoate
