Why We Don’t Offer a Pregnancy Master Herbal Formulation
Pregnancy is a unique physiological state, and herbs appropriate for non-pregnant or nursing mares should not automatically be assumed appropriate during gestation.
This is especially important in early pregnancy, when fetal development is highly sensitive and safety data for many botanicals in pregnant mares is limited. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all pregnancy blend,
Wholehearted Harmony takes a more conservative approach and prioritizes species-appropriate nutrition, quality forage, mineral balance, and individualized care.
When herbal support is truly needed during pregnancy, it should be considered according to the stage of gestation, specific herb, dose, purpose, and individual mare.
Equine Lactation & Maternal Recovery is intended only after foaling, when the physiological focus shifts from pregnancy to maternal recovery and lactation.
How This Blend Fits Into a Whole-Horse Plan
Equine Lactation & Maternal Recovery belongs within Wholehearted Harmony's Functional Support layer. A nursing mare may already be receiving an appropriate Core Essentials formulation as her daily nutritional foundation.
This Functional formula provides additional support specifically for the increased demands of lactation and maternal recovery. Because Core and Functional formulations can overlap nutritionally and botanically, feeding amounts should be considered together rather than simply stacking both formulas at full label dosing.

Core Essentials does not necessarily need to be discontinued; however, the feeding amounts of the formulations may need to be adjusted according to the specific Core blend being used, the mare's body condition, milk demand, diet, and individual needs.
