Digestive & Nervous System Nourishment Herbal Tea

Digestive & Nervous System Nourishment Herbal Tea

Digestive & Nervous System Nourishment Herbal Tea is a Nourishing Master Herbal Formulation designed to provide gentle, ongoing botanical nourishment across the digestive tract, nervous system, mucosal tissues, lymphatic pathways, and antioxidant defenses.

The digestive and nervous systems are deeply interconnected. Autonomic signaling influences digestive motility, secretions, appetite, and gastrointestinal tone, while digestive function and the condition of the intestinal environment continually influence nervous-system regulation and whole-body physiology. Supporting these systems together provides a broader nutritional and physiological foundation than approaching either one in isolation.

This formulation is built around calendula, a carotenoid- and flavonoid-rich botanical traditionally valued for digestive, lymphatic, mucosal, and tissue nourishment. Lemon verbena and lemon balm contribute aromatic digestive and nervous-system support, while orange peel broadens the formulation with citrus flavonoids, antioxidant phytonutrients, and aromatic compounds traditionally associated with healthy digestion and circulation.

Rather than functioning as a targeted digestive or nervous-system protocol, this tea is intended to nourish the physiological territory shared by these systems through regular use. Its combination of tissue-supportive botanicals, aromatic herbs, naturally occurring minerals, carotenoids, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, and other plant constituents provides both botanical and nutritional diversity as part of the Wholehearted Harmony foundational approach.

Adaptive and Nourishing formulations work together as the ongoing foundation of the Human Herbal Tea line. Digestive & Nervous System Nourishment Herbal Tea may be alternated with the Adaptive Foundational Teas to provide broader botanical, nutritional, and phytonutrient diversity while supporting different aspects of everyday physiology over time.

Functional Master Herbal Formulations may then be incorporated when a more focused physiological need requires additional support.

This foundation-first approach allows herbs to be used with purpose rather than indiscriminately stacking multiple formulations or treating every everyday need as something requiring targeted intervention.

Naturally caffeine-free, Digestive & Nervous System Nourishment Herbal Tea has a fresh citrus-herbal character and may be enjoyed morning, afternoon, or evening as part of a consistent herbal wellness practice.

All herbs are 100% certified organic and/or responsibly wildcrafted, non-GMO, and certified kosher.

Combining Multiple Blends & Teas

Calendula Petals (Calendula officinalis) — Functional Properties: Traditionally valued as a tissue-supportive, lymphatic, vulnerary, and digestive botanical. Calendula petals contain abundant carotenoids—including beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin—along with flavonoids, triterpenoids, saponins, sterols, and phenolic compounds. These constituents contribute antioxidant activity while supporting healthy inflammatory regulation and the integrity of mucosal and epithelial tissues. Whole-Systems: Provides broad nourishment to digestive and intestinal mucosa, lymphatic tissues, skin and connective tissues, and the cellular antioxidant systems involved in maintaining tissue integrity and repair. Vitamins & Minerals: Provides carotenoid compounds with provitamin A activity, including beta-carotene, along with lutein, zeaxanthin, and naturally occurring vitamin E-family tocopherols. Calendula is used primarily for its carotenoid- and phytonutrient-rich botanical profile rather than as a concentrated mineral source.

Lemon Verbena (Aloysia citrodora) — Functional Properties: An aromatic digestive and gently calming botanical traditionally used as a carminative and mild antispasmodic. Lemon verbena is particularly rich in phenylpropanoids such as verbascoside, together with flavonoids, iridoids, lignans, tannins, and aromatic volatile compounds. Its phytochemistry provides both digestive and antioxidant value while contributing to the formulation's gentle nervous-system character. Whole-Systems: Influences digestive tone, gastrointestinal comfort, nervous-system regulation, and cellular antioxidant defenses while providing an aromatic bridge between digestive and neurologic physiology. Vitamins & Minerals: Naturally contains potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, manganese, and other mineral elements; concentrations vary with soil, growing conditions, harvest, and preparation.

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) — Functional Properties: A classic aromatic nervine and digestive botanical traditionally valued for calming nervous-system tension while supporting normal digestive tone and motility. Lemon balm contains substantial polyphenol activity, particularly rosmarinic acid, along with caffeic-acid derivatives, flavonoids, triterpenes, tannins, and aromatic constituents including citronellal, citral-related compounds, and other volatile terpenes. Whole-Systems: Provides overlapping support to the nervous and digestive systems while also contributing to healthy stress-response physiology, antioxidant protection, and whole-body regulation. Its dual nervous-system and digestive character makes it especially well suited to nourishing the biological relationship between emotional state, autonomic regulation, and gastrointestinal function. Vitamins & Minerals: Naturally contains meaningful mineral constituents including calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, and zinc.

Dried Orange Peel (Citrus sinensis) — Functional Properties: An aromatic citrus botanical traditionally used to support digestion and healthy gastrointestinal movement. Orange peel is particularly rich in citrus flavanones, including hesperidin and narirutin, along with other flavonoids and polymethoxylated flavones such as nobiletin and tangeretin. Its aromatic fraction also contains limonene and related volatile compounds. Together these constituents provide antioxidant, digestive, and circulatory phytochemistry beyond orange peel's role as a flavoring herb. Whole-Systems: Supports digestive and gastrointestinal physiology while contributing citrus flavonoids relevant to vascular, circulatory, connective-tissue, and cellular antioxidant resilience. Vitamins & Minerals: Naturally provides vitamin C, carotenoids including beta-carotene with provitamin A activity, and mineral constituents including calcium, potassium, and magnesium.
