Lungwort: high mucilage content is known to be useful in respiratory conditions, namely asthma and, in particular, chronic bronchitis. In traditional medicine, Lungwort was used to treat lung diseases such as cough, grippe, catarrh, hoarseness, cold, asthma and even tuberculosis.
Lobelia: Lobeline may help relax the smooth muscles of the bronchial tubes, which can open the airways and ease symptoms of chest tightness, wheezing, and muscle spasms associated with conditions like asthma and chronic bronchitis.Expectorant: It can help thin and loosen mucus (phlegm) in the respiratory tract, making it easier to cough up and clear congestion.Respiratory Stimulant: Lobeline acts as a respiratory stimulant, promoting deeper and stronger breathing.Cough Reflex Support: It may support the cough reflex through its action on specific nerve receptors in the lungs, which helps clear the airways.
Coltfoots: used for asthma, cough, sore throat, swelling of the airways, and other conditions.
Mullein: mullein is an expectorant, which means it helps the body expel excess mucus, usually by helping make your coughs more productive, to bring up mucus that may be settling in the chest or in the throat. It is also a demulcent. Studies show that demulcents create a soothing anti-inflammatory coating over mucous membranes.
Licorice Root: has many anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects, both extract and tea aid upper respiratory conditions. In particular, glycyrrhizin extract from licorice root helps relieve asthma, especially when added to modern asthma treatments.
