REFORMULATED BLEND!

Mares are often stereotyped when they show an "attitude." From my experience with testing, 90% of mares have major hormonal imbalances. This blend was formulated to help those mares with hormonal imbalances, PMS, cramps, and calm the mind during oestrus, while adding important nutritional benefits. At Wholehearted Harmony, we specialize in healing and nutritional herbs, ensuring your mares receive the comprehensive care they need. Our dedication to holistic wellness means offering integrative bodywork and herb testing to support the well-being of your beloved animals. This blend is not for pregnant or nursing mares. Please contacts us if you have a pregnant or nursing mare or check out our Equine Mare & Foal Support.

The Applied Zoopharmagognasy kit can also help you determine a more in-depth awareness of your mare and hormonal issues. Read about the testing here.

These blends are best used with a forage base pellet or a soy free, non-gmo grain. This blends can be combines with other blends, but sometimes a custom blend is more ideal as to not have redundancy. Contact us or book a consultation for more details.

Feeding doses are based on the average 1000lb horse. Please remember that dosages can vary depending on issues. Contact us with any concerns.

Vervain: known for its ability to help reduce anxiety, stress, and nervousness in horses, which can be heightened during hormonal fluctuations. This may make mares more manageable during their heat cycles. Vervain is considered a nervine, meaning it can help balance the autonomic nervous system and soothe nervous tension. This can be helpful for horses that are twitchy, spooky, or sensitive to touch. While not directly regulating hormones in the way chaste tree berries (vitex) might, vervain is included in some mare-specific supplements aimed at supporting hormonal balance and reproductive health, often alongside ingredients like chaste tree berry, raspberry leaves, and chamomile.

Licorice Root: can be a beneficial supplement for hormonal mares, primarily due to its ability to support adrenal function and potentially help balance hormones. It can be used to manage stress levels, reduce inflammation, and even help with gastric ulcers, which are common in horses.

Chamomile: known for its calming properties, which can help reduce anxiety, stress, and nervousness in horses. It has a mild sedative effect that can promote relaxation without impairing alertness. Many horses express stress and anxiety through digestive issues. Chamomile is also a well-regarded digestive soother, easing intestinal spasms, inflammation, and discomfort, which can further contribute to a calmer disposition. Chamomile's richness in calcium and magnesium contributes to a mild muscle-relaxant effect, which may help alleviate tension and cramping. This can be particularly helpful for mares experiencing uterine contractions or muscle tightness during their cycles.
