Lymphatic System Support Herbal Tea Blend

Start with 2 tsps. with 8 oz. of water, in the morning on an empty stomach or in the evening after dinner for 1 week.  After two weeks, 2 cups per day, 1 in the morning prior to eating and 1 in the evening after dinner.  Drink this tea for at least 30 days for maxium benefits. I recommend do this, 30 days days on a few months off and then repeat. 

TO PREPARE:

*Take 2 tsp of the herb blend, you can either use a loose leaf steeper or just put the herbs in a cup. 

*Bring water (I prefer distilled) to just the boiling point, pour in your cup and let brew for at least 10 - 15 minutes. If you don't have a steeper, use a small strainer and pour brewed tea over another cup. 

*Add a little honey for sweetness if desired. 

*You can compost the used herbs or reuse again but the flavor will be weaker. 

You can also make a small batch and keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Anything longer and the potency will fade.

Though herbal teas are used by many, there are situations that may not be safe or suitable. First, always be sure to speak with your doctor or herbalist and let them know what medications/herbs you are taking or might take. 

There are also many herbs said to not be used by pregnant women or with certain medications and are still being used with no contradictions. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH.

Supposable contradictions.

astragalus: If you have an autoimmune disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus, or take cyclophosphamide, a medication used to reduce the chances of rejection in transplant recipients, or corticosteroids, do not take astragalus.

 

calendula: If you're allergic to ragweed, daisies, marigold, or plants in the Asteraceae/Compositae family, you shouldn't use calendula. You also should not use calendula if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.

 

dandelion root: Dandelion might slow blood clotting. In theory, taking dandelion might increase the risk for bruising and bleeding in people with bleeding disorders. Ragweed allergy: People who are allergic to ragweed and related plants (daisies, chrysanthemums, marigolds) might also be allergic to dandelion.

 

cleavers: Pregnancy and breast-feeding: There isn't enough reliable information to know if clivers is safe to use when pregnant or breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side, consult your doctor or avoid use.

 

burdock root: Pregnant or nursing women should avoid burdock as it may cause damage to the fetus. If you are sensitive to daisies, chrysanthemums, or ragweed, you may experience an allergic reaction to burdock, including dermatitis.

 

echinancea angustifolia: People with asthma and allergies may be at an increased risk for developing these adverse reactions. People with allergies to plants in the daisy family (compositae) should not take Echinacea without the supervision of a provider. Minor side effects can include stomach upset, nausea, dizziness, and dry eyes.

Herbs take time to fully work. Drinking herbal teas blends works best if consumed per directions for at least 1 month (unless otherwise specified) to gain the benefits.

I always recommend stopping herbs after the recommended time for a good week or two and see if some of the symptoms you felt have gone away. It's a good time to let the body reset itself and see if somethings may have actually healed. 

You may even be able to lessen the amount of cups per day; from 3 cups to 1 cup.
