EPM - equine protozoal myeloencephalitis.
Horses become infected when they ingest feed or water contaminated with opossum feces. The feces carry a disease that affects the central nervous system of horses. It is caused by a protozoal infection that is brought about by the apicomplexan parasites Sarcocystis neurona or Neospora hughesi. Most cases are caused by S. neurona. 
 
EPM presents itself sometimes as obscure lameness, stumbling and incoordination. If the brain stem is involved, usually a head tilt is present. Clinical signs may include: Ataxia (incoordination) and weakness: Generally centered in the rear limbs, symptoms worsen when the head is elevated, or the horse moves up or down slopes.
 
EPM is treatable. In most cases horses with weaker immune system are affeced the most. 
 
At Wholehearted Harmony, we introduce the Equine EPM Support blend, meticulously crafted to aid horses diagnosed with EPM and also suitable for use while awaiting test results. This blend has been carefully put together to support the horse diagnosed with EPM and also can be used while you are waiting on results from the EPM test. It took me sometime to really decide what herbs I felt were the strongest and would work synergistically together for the best results. Your horse's well-being is at the heart of our mission, and we greatly value your feedback on this blend, as it is essential for ongoing refinement.
 
These blends are best use with a forage base pellet or a soy freen, non-gmo grain. This blends can be combines with other blends, but sometimes a custom blend is more ideal as to not have redundancy. Contact us or book a consultation for more details.

Custom Packaging & Bag Breakdown Fee (Equine & Canine Blends Only)
Standard pricing includes packaging your order in the original supply size purchased (30-day, 60-day, or 90-day supply packaged in a single bag, or standard short-duration supplies such as 4-dstom8-day or 12-day antiparasitic blends).
If you purchase a 60-day or 90-day supply, or a short-duration antiparasitic supply, and request that it be broken down into smaller individual bags (for example, requesting multiple 30-day bags or shorter-duration bags), this is considered custom packaging and requires additional time, materials, labeling, and handling.
